CIFIKA
Fluent in sonic and visual expression, CIFIKA creates vivid music realms anchored by her ethereal electronic-pop compositions. Having emerged with her 2016 breakout EP <INTELLIGENTSIA>, the Seoul-based artist, singer, and producer filters humanism through the natural, celestial, and futuristic. On her 2020 debut album <HANA>, CIFIKA captured nostalgia through earthly elements and spiritual cycles. With her new full-length, <ION>, she continues to reflect on her lived experiences through otherworldly metaphors, representing the complex feelings that can arise in a relationship through principles of science and fantasy.
음악은 물론이고 시각적인 표현에도 능숙한 일렉트로닉-팝 아티스트 CIFIKA는 2016년 EP <INTELLIGENTSIA>를 통해 세상에 처음 등장했으며, 이후 서울을 기반으로 아티스트이자 뮤지션, 프로듀서 등 경계를 뛰어넘는 작업으로 주목받고 있다. 한국에서 나고 자랐으나 미국의 오레곤과 캘리포니아에서 청소년기와 대학 시절을 보낸 환경으로 인해 그 시절 스스로 터득한 언어 감각으로 가사에서 한국어와 영어를 어색함 없이 교차시키며 국내는 물론이고 글로벌 신에서 활동하는 멀티미디어 아티스트로서의 면모를 유연하게 보여준다.
2023년 3월, 고난을 이겨내는 회복탄력성을 이야기 하는 정규 2집 <ION> 을 발매했다. 엔트로피와 변동성을 음악언어로 반영함과 동시에 중독성 있는 후렴구와 댄스 리듬을 풍부하게 활용해 팝의 요소를 끌어안는 일렉트로닉 앨범을 완성했다.
